✅ Tick the box if the answer is YES
- [ ] Would the hook grab your attention?
Hooks can make or break a post, especially on text-only posts… make sure yours will stop the scroll
- [ ] Is the purpose of your post one of the following?
Educate, entertain, energise, inspire, convert, make think, connect, engage community, solves a pain point
- [ ] Is there a clear, and singular, CTA (call to action) or CTV (call to value)?
Will your audience know exactly what to do after reading your post? And feel compelled to do so
CTA - Contact us, book here, visit our website
CTV - Stop missing out on opportunities and invest in your brand design
- [ ] Is the TOV (tone of voice) on brand?
You need to maintain the same TOV throughout your content. If your brand TOV is friendly & casual, but you’ve used so many fancy words it’s starting to sound like a corporate instruction manual, you need to go back and adjust it
- [ ] Can your ICPs (ideal client profiles) relate to, or resonate with, what you’ve said in your post?
For ICPs to engage with your content (and eventuslly convert), they need to feel a connection through your content and build that trust
- [ ] If your name wasn’t on it, would it still be recognisable as yours?
Don’t be generic, make sure it’s specific to you and your brand
- [ ] Have you cut the fluff?
People aren’t on LinkedIn to read novel-like posts, so look for opportunities to simplify your point. If you find it all of value and can’t cut it down anymore, split it into multiple posts instead
- [ ] Does it make sense?
Seems a bit like an obvious one, but sometimesa you get so caught up in writing that you don’t notice you’ve gone completely left field until you reflect on it
- [ ] Is it visually appealing?
Text post - use white space to break it into bitesize pieces
Image post - choose a relevant photo or graphic that will catch peoples attention (I call this the visual hook)

💡 FINAL TIP:
Make sure your profile is optimised with:
- Who you are
- What you do
- What problems you solve
- How to get in touch
- Links to important pages (e.g., discovery form/call, website, portfolio etc)
You won’t get inbound leads from your post if these things aren’t clear to the people who see your post and jump on your profile
